I've taken competitive Ballroom and Latin and still taking it. I love it. It made me more flexible, gave me a better posture and I found a lot of new friends. For competitions, I get to wear those absolutely stunning dresses.
Ballroom as a career is usualy you become a professional dancer which means you can do shows and charge money for it and you can teach. You can buy and run a dance studio.

Kinds of dancing I have studied include ballet, tap, gymnastic, modern, jazz, flamenco, hula, tahitian, square and round dancing (not a joke - round dancing is like square dances without the caller) and ballroom. Can you develop flexibility? Sometimes. It's certainly a wonderful way to exercise, and great fun for an evening's entertainment.
Careers in dancing include show dancers, featured dancers, dance teachers and a number of retired dancers seem to end up running dance and costume supply boutiques.

I have taken Ballet, Modern, Belly, and a few others. and careers go from dancers to instructors and choreographers with many things in between.
the most fun I have though was Latin Dancing. Who can resist that music esp. when your Latino? Flexibility wise Ballet and Belly dancing but the more fun one was Belly dancing and its so sexy. I have yet to meet a man who doesn't melt when they see a girl who can belly dance (correctly)

I've taken ballet, tap, jazz, acro, and modern dance classes. I love it! You can definitely develop greater flexibility with regular classes and practice. Jobwise, I've tapdanced in some musicals, and danced funk/jazz as a pro cheerleader.

I have taken 4 years of jazz, one of break dancing (years ago) one of Salsa, and one of belly dancing. Dancing is great fun, great exercise and makes for a great body.
