I know some good theater schools, I know some great theater schools in the country, but what are the very best ones? I'm sort of looking in the realm of Juilliard and such.

Everyone knows about Julliard, NYU, Carnegie-Mellon, etc., and I'm not here to tell you that those AREN'T top-flight programs, but...you have to remember that acting schools are only as good as the faculty that are teaching there RIGHT NOW. It's nice to attend a school that has a lofty reputation, but, once you're out the door, nobody will ever ask to see your diploma at an audition; they just want to see your WORK, so you had better get the best possible training.

In my opinion, the very best training program in the U.S. is the Professional Theatre Training Program at the University of Delaware (formerly the PTTP at the University of Milwaukee - Wisconsin). You won't find a more gifted, committed, and passionate theatre faculty anywhere. They've been training student-actors together since 1978, and they do it better than anyone else.
