Midol is great for short term, like a first day only, kind of use. Long term, midol and any other over the counter drug, can have negative side effects. Generally, (though not always), really bad cramps are a symptom of low calcium or iron. Taking vitamins all month could help reduce the cramping. When it comes, though, try experiementing with more natural methods of pain relief, such as raspberry leaf tea, calcium supplements, healthy diet, moderate ab-based exercise (pilates/yoga/etc), heating pad or hot shower. The quick fix of a pill is not worth the long term problems of organ damage. Your period will go away when you're older- but you are stuck with that liver for life.... Which is more important?

Midol doesn't work if you get cramps like mine. The best over the counter pill I found is Naproxin. Just go to your local store and ask someone where it would be!! One pill lasts about all day and works alot better then anything I've tried in the past! hope I was helpful!! Good luck ♥

I think warm chamomile tea is the best or just any tea avoid taking pills because it if you continue to take it evry time you have cramps it could damage your liver due to consumption of acetaminophen. But it is okay to take it once in a while.

Midol would be number one on the list. But Advil works also.
