The two phones I'm intrested in are the Nokia 6680 and the Sony Ericsson W900i. They are only tri-band (missing 850MHZ). IF I get either of these will a loose quality of service? Or should I stick to the 850MHZ/1900MHZ phones.

If you have Cingular, do NOT buy a soley 1900 MHz phone. You need a phone that has 850 to be on Cingular. You don't NEED it, but it is greatly advised because Cingular has many 850 cell sites.
If you had T-mo, 1900 would be ok because they only use 850 to roam on cingular, but if you are using cingular, you bassicly need 850. Very important.
Hope I helped.
