The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.

Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. These are market research companies and they are hired (and paid) by their clients to conduct market research for them -- e.g. usage survey, product survey, etc. -- to gauge how users use a product, where do they buy the product, how does the product compare with other brands in the market, etc. That is why legitimate market survey companies can afford to pay respondents per survey because the amount they pay respondents are typically included in the research budget they submit to their clients -- and the clients pay. Note that these are often big companies.

Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.

Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

They get advertising cause you may like the sites or companies and could possibly spread the word. They do pay you each offer is different. You do pay sometimes depending on the offers that you decide to do there is enough offers out there to do that cost you nothing. The site I use is http://www.myfriendbenjamin.com in which has a list of sites in which have offers that you can complete. They are more of a help site. They also have a section that may be able to answer some of your other questions. They also have a section that cause help you understand the difference between good money making sites and the scamming sites. Good Luck.

There are alot of companies that are scams and don't really pay you, however there are some legit ones out there. I personally use treasure trooper and have found it to be very legit and get paid monthly, if you are still skeptical you can check out the site

there is a forum where members interact and post pictures of the actual checks they recieve. They afford to pay you because the companies that hold the surverys and offers you complete pay them for each person they get to complete the survery or offer, so basically they pay you a portion of what they get paid.

Treasure Trooper is the only one that I have found that works, but I heard Cashcrate works as well. As long as its a free membership to sign up, it couldn't hurt to check it out, defiantely stay clear of anything that charges you a membership fee.
