It is without any doubt that a desktop is a more economical choice than a laptop. Laptops tend to cost more, break easily and get stolen. In fact, they are the number one stolen item in America. It seem that drug users can sell a laptop for quick cash.

May I suggest that you look at the Desktops at Dell for comparison. But you can get a bargain and get a known brand name at Wal-mart. Look at the HP or Compaq desktops at that retailer. At times, I have seen full systems costing less than $400. One of my customers recently bought a Compaq at Wal-mart with a monitor for only $350.

It all depends on what you want? If your in school a laptop would work best, walmart, circuit city or bestbuy or office max will have good but cheap ones. Not going to school a desktop is good also. I would get a laptop becuase you can take it where ever you go

In general, you will be able to get a lot more Power for your money with a Desktop.

The real question you need to ask is "how important is moblity to you?"

If it is important, get a laptop. If not go with a desktop and save the money.
