I think that the whole bogus attack on homosexuality that is sweeping the nations has more to do with the misuse of religion than anything else. Most people use the Bible to justify their bigotry but anyone who has read the Bible knows that there is a ton of contradictory information in its pages. It then becomes about them choosing what to believe and what to disbelieve. The problem is that most people only choose to concern themselves with particular things that don't apply to them because it allows them to be haughty and self righteous.

Only those people will ever know. It seems to me that alot of people have entirely too much time on their hands and not enough going on in their owns lives, therefore they start finger pointing, nitpicking and judging others. I'm not gay and I know it's "in the bible" that homosexuality is wrong , but who am I to tell that to somebody that is homosexual every freaking minute of the day. I have better things to worry about.

The wonderfull age old question...The simple and straight answer even with all my fancy degrees and such, is I DON'T KNOW! And it drives me NUTS!

Most of it probably stem back to our favorite moral code, Judeo-Christianity. While I respect the gospel and the old testament why're moral guides and frankly WAY outdated. I mean C'mon now, no wearing of mixed threads, no eating shellfish, living of Manna and honey? I mean c'mon now even Green party members would have trouble living like that!

Most Americans grew up on Judeo-Christian Ideology and Mythicism (Yes I used the word Myth! Why there's no hard core fact!) Why else would nut jobs in middle america claim The Theory of Evolution is fake and Insist on teaching the myth of creationism?

To answer your question, Most people are raised with an outdated moral system. There is simply no way around it. I do challenge all christian to look at their belief system and analyze it. Learn to think.

Because the Bible teaches us that we are to go into all the world a preach the gospel so that the world might be saved from sin and that includes the sin of homosexuality.

I care because I lost my best friend at the age of 21 - he was only 25 - to AIDS - because even though he had been raised and church and knew better he chose a homosexual lifestyle and therefore perished from that choice.

Approx 75% of Americans "claim" to be christian while only 30% worldwide claim they are Christians.
Of that 75% in America MOST use their religious faith as a whip to justify their own bigotry.
It is the same whip they used in the past to justify slavery and blocking interracial marriages.
they claim it is morality based on biblical principles and God's word instead of what it really is-prejudice and hate for a minuscule part of the overall population that is absolutely no threat to them or their beliefs.

It's obvious when God created the earth and the little animals on it they were suppose to be male and female so they could add more creatures to the earth. I think is for their familiar, religious and educational background, mostly religious, I don't like to be so general about it, but I just think that they are afraid about the notion of love between two men or two women, being gay is not just only sex, is just only a little part of who we are.

I'm not against homsexuals. Just homosexuality.

Maybe I wouldn't be so against it if gays and lesbians realized that homosexuality is a CHOICE, instead of being fooled into believing that it's a part of your chemical make-up. It's only resolving you of any responsibility to a lot in life that not a lot of people approve of. If you go on and say "it's how I was born", you're trying to tell people that it's hopeless to change.

I myself have a similar situation. I go around in public wearing a pair of sunglasses that look like the kind that Willy Wonka wears. There are some people who don't like me wearing them (most of whom are my family). I wear them just because I happen to like them. I can take them off and perhaps don some other form of eyewear if I want, but it's my CHOICE. I choose to wear them. I don't HAVE to wear them, I just WANT to. If gays started pursuing this line of reasoning instead of saying "It's how God made me" (even though God condemns it as an abomination), maybe people would be a little easier about accepting your way of life.
