Democrat - my favorite Republican is probably Former President Gerald Ford.
He made the unpopular decision to pardon Nixon, but the country focused on business and wasn't dragged into a prolonged scandal, the way the later Republicans scandalized and impeached Clinton over his sex life (I did not want to hear anything about it, thank you very much.)
Senator Lindsey Graham from South Carolina always seems impressive when he speaks. I tended to agree with him often when he spoke during the Supreme Court Justice confirmation hearings.

Well, since I'm not affiliate with either, can I name my favorite Republican AND Democrat?
My favorite Democrats in history are FDR and Truman. My favorite CURRENT Democrat is Adam Smith. He's a congressman from Washington State.
My favorite Republican in history is Abraham Lincoln. My favorite CURRENT Republican...probably either Giuliani, Condi, or Bush 43. I know I'm going to get thumbs-down for the last one, but he's better than many other current Republicans.

Independent, so I get two choices
Evan Bayh, but I'm probably a little biased there, now you know what state I'm from. He did run as a moderate. Fiscally conservative, was good for the state. But I'm afraid he may be starting the slide to the left. I hope not.
Rudy Giuliani, but I'm not sure. I know he really cracked down on crime as mayor of New York, but I'd have to look at other issues.

I don't find John McCain or Rudy either one too objectionable and would consider voting for either depending on who the Dems run.
Contrary to a lot of the opinions on here, I don't think most of the people that dislike Bush do so because he is a Repub. I know that I dislike him because he is the most corrupt, dishonest, sack of dung to ever inhabit the White House. But, that's just me.

I can't really say I "like" any republicans.
John McCain was cool, but it seems like he's selling out some of his values to get a shot at the White House so I'm not such a fan anymore.
