I had not read a book in years....... I was visiting a lady friend in Denver and as she took me back to the airport to go home she bought me that book....

I thought "Oh gezzzzzzzzzz ... That's a BIG book." :(

About half way home I picked it up just to glance at it.....

In the end I had my Portland OR. lady fiend read it TOO ME as I was driving her to work and home. I could not put it down and I couldn't even let Pati put it down. She loved it / was hooked as well...

Its an amazing book. More importantly it got me to reading again.. I now read 3 or 4 books a month...

The Thorn Birds is a well-written book with believable characters that you really care about.
It seems that most people enjoyed it and considered it worth their time, I certainly did. Hope you enjoy it.

Did you get harm patting your self on the returned for that one? I mean it is not precisely rocket technological know-how, is it Jethro? LOL Yeah i'd have finished the comparable element myself, different than i'd have glanced for the period of the learning just to work out if there became something specific in there that could have a smidgen of activity for me, in any different case i'd in basic terms pop open a lager and allow the spouse do it because of the fact is a guy's job. that would desire to, of direction, clarify why i'm divorced now.

The book is great so is the mini series, even if Richard Chamberlain isn't quite up to playing the Good Father

I read it quite a few years ago. I thought it was a good book which I may read again now that you reminded me. If I remember correctly i didn't enjoy the TV mini series.

Not only have I read it, I own a copy. Read it again about twice a year. Great book, lousy miniseries. The book gives the characters such a reality. Most assuredly worth your time.

It was a few years ago and I loved it. I then read all the books by the same author but none were as good.

Colleen McCullough did a masterful job. The mini series WAS INDEED excellent, too, regardless of what most here say. Most here were not even around when it was made. And the author wrote some other masterful stories, yet none were ever as popular.

Read it years ago and loved every word. Far better than any movie or mini-series.
