I agree with cyanne2ak's response regarding Bare Minerals. With acne prone skin, you do not want to use any of the liquid or cream foundation out on the market. I have been using Bare Minerals for a couple of years. While I don't wear it everyday, no one can tell when I am wearing it...it is just that good. Plus it is good for your skin because all it is is crushed mineral. Unless you have really, really bad skin, I would not try Proactiv.
What they don't tell you is that your skin will get worse before it better. The product draws out all the impurities from your skin over time. I used it for little over a month and had to discontinue using it. Philosophy has a great skin care line. Good luck!

Stick to oil-free foundation, at least until your acne clears up.
I've used Almay and Revlon during outbreaks of acne and never had a problem with either product.
Clinique foundations are good as well but do not offer a high degree of coverage, so if you have dark blemishes, you will need a concealer as well.
Most of the higher-end brands use some sort of oil in making foundation, so check the ingredients before buying any.

Im the biggest Proactiv fan!! I have been using it for two years and I seriously tried everything...tetracycline and differin from the dermatologist. This stuff works so well BUT dont skip a morning or night or else your skin will freak out. Also use teh refining mask..it works so well especially if you put it on zits and leave it on over night. As far as foundation, I ONLY use Napoleon Perdis makeup or Bare Minerals..I use Napoleon foundation stick and then use Bare minerals on top. Everyone says my face looks airbrushed. Try it!

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!
Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:
1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.
There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

Clinique is the best foundation I have ever used. It gives your skin a flawless look without the creases and foundation demarkation on the neckline. It also stays on and looks great all day long whereas a lot of other foundations tend to smudge and wear off.
Estee Lauder also makes a wonderful line of foundations.
Stay away from Covergirl. They stink and can lead to breakouts. They're very hard to match up to skintones as well.

I like Bare Minerals. It really works for me. I've tried using oil-free foundation but I still feel like my skin gets shiny in the middle of the day.

I suggest Bare Escentuals (Bare Minerals). Works REALLY well and the color is absolutely superior to all others. You really can sleep in it and not have a problem.
