It's difficult to find a movie totally free of "implausibilities," especially one in the action genre. It kind of comes down to what you consider an "Action" movie. For example, I consider the movie Run Lola Run an action movie, whereas it is quite realistic in terms of the stunts performed and the degrees to which characters are made vulnerable.

That's actually one of the best examples I can think of. However, typically, as a rule, older movies have fewer stunts and more realistic action. It doesn't look as fancy, but the actuality of what is going in might feel more plausible. An example is Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest.

You can try "Ong Bak: the Thai Warrior" starring Tony Ja. They don't use wires or special cinematic effects, all of their fight choreography & stunts are performed live, and Ja is flat-out amazing. So at least wht you're seeing, he's really doing.

As for story implausibilities, well it wouldn't be an action film otherwise...

I like the bourne films for the way they 'feel' real. There probably are a few inconsistencies but I am not in a position to figure them out. No gadgets and stuff, he fights a guy with a rolled up newspaper. Wicked.
