a + 6a - 9 = 30
Add 9 to both sides to get:
a + 6a = 39
Combine your a terms:
7a = 39
Divide both sides by 7:
a = 39/7

don't think i am a nerd... u do 6a+a=7a OK and 7a-9=2a and 30 divided by 2 and a=15
a+6a-9=30
7a-9=30
2a=30
30 divided by 2
a=15
