One morning I tried to use the microwave that is installed over the Range/Stove, the microsave ran for a few seconds before it suddenly stopped. I tested the outlet and found out there is no electricity in the wire. In attemptting to fix, I've tried the following things:
1. Checked all the curcuit breakers in the basement and they are all on.
2. Pushed the reset button next to stove.
3. Replaced the old outlet with a new one.

None of the above fixed the problem. What else can I do before calling an electrician? Thanks very much!!

Push the appropriate breaker a couple of times to reseat it, I'll bet its "popped" but still looks good.

Go back and flip the breakers off and back on, unless you know which one runs to the outlet.
You can't always tell by looking.
It will feel loose/wiggle a bit when you find it.

However, something had to overload the breaker. It could have been the old outlet or the microwave itself. If it was the outlet you may see some slightly burned wires.

Have you tried the microwave in another outlet to be sure that it's functioning properly? Are any other outlets dead? I doubt that a breaker has only one outlet on it. Usually only 220V is on one breaker, a pair.

Refer to the owner's manual to determine whether there is a reset button on the oven. If so, press it, and try operating again. If it does not work, refer toi manual for other trouble shooting hints. If still no luck, locate a receptacle in the kitchen that you can confirm works for a lamp, radio, whatever. Run an extension cord from the working receptacle and plug the microwave into that cord. Then check if the microwave works. If it still does not work call an appliance repair service for a microwave checkup.

Is the plug protected by a gfci ( ground fault circuit interupter) A gfci can be located somewhere else and be in line and protecting the plug. Also is there a switch somewhere on a wall that might have been turned off?

The only thing I can thimk of is recheck the breakers. Sometimes they look okay but may be tripped.

turn off the circut breaker and turn it back on, that should work, if not turn off that circut breaker off for 30 minutes and turn it back on, and you're back on!
