My husband and I have lived several places since we got married 6 years ago. Ocean City, Maryland area was the personal favorite of ours, but we both decided, that with two kids that maybe it was better for us to live around family, so we moved back to our native upstate NY a few years ago. Now that the kids are older I have opened a business (lingerie, but not porn) which is successful online, but would like to open a retail shop. My husband is thrilled with the idea of having my own shop. But, we can't decide if Ocean City which we grew to love is better or if Binghamton area is. Ocean City would cost a fortune to live, as there is nothing that we can own in our price range, unless it's a mobile home on rented ground. But, the projected business profits would be a lot bigger and it's an area that we love. Binghamton business is questionable and don't know if a shop of my kind would even work out. Does anyone have any ideas or own a business in either area to give us advice?

Are you completely tied to that area? Consider expanding your horizons into a high growth area, such as Phoenix AZ or Las Vegas/Henderson NV. Great living conditions and some of the fastest-growing areas in the US.

The best place would be one you both agree on and that works for the business you are starting. It is stressfull enough moving to start a business too. Your marriage will be strained.
