Do you think it's possible for someone to learn to play the drums well enough to perform a couple songs in about 5 months?I'm talking simple-ish rock songs,you know.(oh, someone with no prior knowledge of playing the drums, i mean)If you practiced really hard and put your mind to it, i think it can be done...but i don't know...

I'm no drummer but I used to be in bands, and I knew a couple of people who were new and learned pretty quick.
They both took lessons, but one of them (a female) set up her drumset in her parents basement along with a stereo and headphones (hey, this was before iPods). She worked on her lesson exercises, and when she was done she'd play along to some of her favorite songs.
Work hard, and play along with the songs you want to learn. Don't try to nail it all at once - get the basic song down and continue to expand on it.

Of course it can be done. I play guitar and when I really like a song I can learn to play it in a matter of hours

If you have any ability it should be very easy with practice in that much time.

course it can. itll take a lot of time and determination but yes ... have confidence in yourself!
