Why? Not all minorities are poor. And now days the USA is a pretty diverse place, minorities in some places could be white folk.

I don't necessarily think that minorities should get into college for free. I mean I'm a minority but by doing this you're equating minority to poverty.. If a person is a minority, then therefore they cannot afford college.. There are caucasians and minorities that need the funding but this is due to financial standing, not color.. I think that people who need aid should get it, regardless of color or national origin.. We cannot single out others.

Why? Are they all deserving of scholarships? Surely they don't all have show the same kind of promise as other people in college. There must be some minorities that will never accomplish anything, wether they go to college or not. If you treat minorities like they have a handicap, then they will get used to acting like they have a handicap.

University (college) used to be free in Australia. Now most people pay but its paid after you graduate and when you start earning income as part of your taxes. Indigenous Australians get it free.
Everyone has to earn the right to be there though - by way of grades. We have private colleges that you pay up front and they are easier to get in to.

Why? and who will pay for all of this "free" education? No one should get anything for free because there is no such thing as "free". Someone, somewhere will have to pay for it, otherwise how will the professors get paid, how will the lights be kept on, and how will the buildings be maintained.

People who think that they should get "free" stuff are just saying they don't want to be responsible for paying for it themselves.

no way, only the one's that are smart enough to get in should be able to go. just like you'd pick the most qualified person for a job no matter what race and not just hire someone because they're a minority.
