Not being spiritual or having a respect for people who (in my view) were religious to a fault made me feel kind of superior in my life until I was caught in an earthquake.

As the walls began to shake, food from the kitchen started flying, furniture fell or toppled over, I headed for the door of the 2nd floor apartment I lived in. With one look outside I knew I would not be able to get my wife and baby daughter out of the apartment so I grabbed them both and headed for the bathroom. While waiting for the insanity to stop I heard myself repeating "God let us live one more day"!

Since that day I have admired people who have a spiritual being about them or who worship out of simple faith. I have admitted to myself and others that I am a believer of a higher authority and will never ever doubt it.

The entity I define as God is my friend and confidant, never questions my motive or action. I've asked for two favors in my life and they both were granted.

God is the creator of the universe. He is the god of all gods. Yes a god is whomever one worships and yes religion and theology is centered around which god people believe in. The person has to make a choice to decide what to believe. One can decide to believe in one god, many gods, or none. I believe in one only. But that is for you to make your own decision whether you believe in God the father of the universe.

Something created by people to explain things they do not understand. Sometimes because they are in awe of the amazing things in life. Maybe why the world is there. Why there is suffering. Why they feel lucky to be here.

All of theology is the study of systems people create around "their" god. If it is your god you spell it God, if its their god they spell it god.

People that create God or gods are looking for answers. The dangerous people are the ones who create God and then tell you that their answer is the only correct answer. They do it to get power over you. They have all the answers and you have to ask them about the answers. That is what religions are.

God goes into the same box with Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. The only difference is that over thousands of years, millions of people haven't been slaughtered in the name of either Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. Only God has that distinction.

That than which none greater suitable might properly be theory, THAT I call God. - St. Anselm. even with the actuality that St. Anselm and that i've got very diverse conceptions of what's optimal, i'm rather of this assertion by ability of him. To me God has 2 aspects. the 1st is God of Cosmic Dimensions, the ALL. The ALL is greater suitable than humanity can understand, yet we are in a position to appreciate the main necessary aspects relative to ourselves by ability of remark and the kit of great judgment interior the study of technological know-how. This factor of God is, different than inasmuch as we can harmonize (or no longer) with the guidelines of "Nature's God", completely impersonal and maximum in no way "worried" with humankind or any particularity. the 2d factor of God is interior the human ethical and ethical measurement. that's God Immanent as Love. In love the ends are the flexibility. Love is take place because of the fact the virtues: justice, modesty, diligence, forbearance, generosity, braveness and honesty. in this i'm announcing that God is one's ideals, one's approach, one's motivations. Projecting them right into a personification as religions frequently do is organic fantasy and superstition. God, is a "spirit" and till actualized in person and wisdom is easily impotent. in greater summary words God is limitless ability (chaos) consistently starting to be. That which determinines the character of the produce (cosmos, order) of that consistent starting to be is emblems (the ordering concept, the main suitable regulation. the place the emblems is suspicion and worry then the cosmos is suspicious and fearsome. the place the emblems is Love, then the cosmos is this, here and now.

God is a fictional character created by the minds of humans in such a manner as characters such as superman, batman, and spiderman are. God is also a character developed by a group of humans as a central point to their religion which they feel a need to be a part of for a variety of reasons (usually as a crutch).
