For the past couple of months I've had a small round bump on the back of my neck right at where my hairline begins or ends, depending on how you see it. It's completely painless and doesn't itch or anything like that but it's there and I'm starting to grow a little concerned. I tried to use a "freeze off" wart remover thinking it was some kind of wart but that didn't work so I guess it's not.

Can anyone tell me what this might be?

Please just answer the question if you have one and DON'T just tell me to go see the doctor without any other kind of answer.

I will make an appointment in the next couple of weeks once I start my new job and get insured.

I have one of those. I've had it since I was little. The doctors didn't know what it was. They said it was more likely just something swollen in my throat but it's nothing at all. Noooo need to be worried at all!

I've had the little bumps at the edge of my hair line before and it turned out to be an ingrown hair. The only difference is that they are kinda tender. Sometimes you can pop it if it is an ingrown hair or a zit. Have someone you know look at it ...to see if it has some sort of a head on it.

I had the same thing..but a little lower...hard...nonpainful but mentally annoying....I know i should not have done it...but...soaked in hot towels...made a little prick with a sterile needle...put the hydrogen peroxide that come in a tube on it...felt a deep burn immediatly...got worried.....3 more times I did this....4 days later a very smelly old deep pimple popped.....I know it is not the most clinically but it worked....

I get that under my ear on my neck when its really warm out. It's nothing to be worried about... just hormones/nodes/swelling--all goes hand in hand.

If you think its something to be concerned about, just ask your doctor when you have the appointment.

Or it could be a gland... forgot to add that.

It could be a cyst, which usually are not too much of a concern, but it wouldn't hurt to have it professionally looked at.

There is a small node there that sometimes swells, but it's not deadly or it could a fatty cyst.
