Strawberry Fields Forever is a Beatles' classic.

Widely considered to be one of the group's best recordings, it is also one of the defining works of the psychedelic rock genre. Although conventionally credited to both John Lennon and Paul McCartney (see Lennon-McCartney), "Strawberry Fields Forever" is known to have been composed solely by Lennon.

Strawberry Field was a Salvation Army orphanage just around the corner from Lennon's boyhood home in Woolton (UK).
Lennon and his childhood friends Pete Shotton and Ivan Vaughan used to play in the trees behind the orphanage.
One of Lennon's childhood treats was the garden party that took place each summer in the grounds of Strawberry Field.

It's in Central Park. The west side by 72nd Street. John And Yoko use to live at the nearby Dakota.(he was shot / murdered in front of there also) It was their favorite place in the park. I was just there on October 9th to celebrate John's B'day w/ all the fans. In 1985, the spot was dedicated to him. oh, and the song is by the Beatles.

Strawberry fields where nothing is real abound around us. Picking strawberries is dirty, backbreaking work. On the other hand, as a child professional in the field - I always ate more than I handed in, nothing is sweeter than a vine ripened berry. Hard work / sweet sweetness = nothing is real.
