to all who are reading this, who among you actually talk about these topics to other people in person rather than just ranting about it in this forum because you fear for your safety?

i do talk about these things to people who are close to me, what i meant to say is that i have noticed how cruel, obnoxious, and hateful people can be in this forum(this and the religion and spirituality forum) so i was just wondering if these people really act this way to others face to face.

I do, only rarely though. I have so much fun with my friends, why bring the gloom on?
But sometimes they want to know my opinion, and I state it and why. If they get into political discussions, i try to avoid them since most of them don't know what they are talking about and it only hurts friendships

I believe in an open dialog, whether it's online or in person. Without the sharing of opinions and ideas, our nation would become stagnant. I listen to opposing viewpoints openly and without prejudice and often share my own.
But having said that, I do like to pick the appropriate forum to express political views. It is not always wise to start shouting ideals. In order for conversation to be productive, it must be amongst a willing and open audience.

I talk to anyone and everyone...don't care if I know them or not every middle-class American needs to be involved in the process. When I hear someone speaking spanish I also say "this is America, speak English!"
I have not put any signs in my yard due to fear but would love too! Isn't it sad an American has to live in fear because our government is not doing it's job? Our tax dollars at work!

I don't fear anyone and talk freely about my opinions. I love having this forum however because I can make my points to thousands of people at one time. Isn't America great?

I talk to my colleagues, friends and family about the same issues or topics I answer on here. Why should I fear for my safety or feel threatened? Who by?

I enjoy having thought provoking conversations all the time about politics. I find there is a lot of ranting and blind judging (and yes, I'm sure I'm guilty too). But I like to try and get as many viewpoints on subjects as possible. I find it a nice supplement to my knowledge on a subject or issue.

I say nothing at all in this forum that I wouldn't say on the street. In fact I HAVE said the things I say here many times to many people.

I talk about such subjects often. I do tend to get a little "ranty" here in response to the rants of others. There seems to be a heightened sense of conflict sometimes.

I do openly debate them. You can usually tell the people who don't by their close minded answers. You can tell they have never heard an opinion from the other side, and wouldn't listen anyways.
Of course they probably go out, and "debate"with people they know agree with them. Or just yell over everyone.
