i got this friend it trys to sing but it sounds like a cow in a hale storm or a cat that got its tail caught in a ringer so how do u get it to shut up when it sings

I don't think telling them will work..I have a similar friend and I think these folks genuinely believe they are good singers...if its there only fault just put up with it...buy some ear plugs...lol

If you figure it out, let me know. I run a karaoke business, and have to let whoever wants to get up and sing, and believe me, a cow in a hail storm or a cat with its tail in a ringer would sound good on some nights!

Hahaha ... that's funny!!! My husband can't sing, either but he purchased a Karaoke and microphone anyways. Wanna know what I do when he gets the urge to sing? I close all the windows and the doors of the house so noone will be able to hear him. Then, I walk to the kitchen and when he is on a roll I yell, "Shut up already." Or, when he's done, I just say, "Damn, you really messed that song up." My husband has a good sense of humor and I'm hoping your friend does, too. Try it and let me know if it works. It works for me, my husband hardly sings anymore. I think he waits until I'm out of the house to do it, though.

I second that Wendy chick's motion...I should try that. If that doesn't work...play it back in front of more people, take a survey, and prove beyond a doubt the person does indeed suck. This is time consuming, however, so a simple shut the hell up will have to suffice in certain situations.

Just turn the volume up or tell them hey i like this song i want to hear the lyrics to it so sing it next time. Make sure their wont be a next time!

All you have to do is to tell her the truth. Or secretly tape her singing and play it back for her so she can hear her horrible voice. But the best thig is to be completly honest even if it means hurting her feelings.

I would either tell IT and if that doesn't work, then record IT singing with out IT knowing, and play it back for IT.
If that doesn't work then I don't know what will!

I agree with the taping and playing it back! Just recomend that they tape themselves so they can hear it and use it for a refferences or something, so ure not hurting their feelings but trying to help... then they wont feel so bad when they realize they suck!

i would say im sorry if i offend you, but your not a very good singer..Can you not sing infront of me..If they still do it, i would record it and play it back later on and see what they say..You should make your friend relize how bad they sound
