it's not legal. But legality aside, it's up to you to do the right thing. Someone out there is waiting for that package. My nephews were expecting a box of gifts for christmas, but the UPS guy delivered it to the wrong house and the people kept the box. Can you imagine stealing toys from kids on christmas. So it all depends on one's own morals not the law

If they are NOT addressed to you drop them in a mailbox for the post office to do a better delivery next time. i once got a magazine addressed to a neighbor down the street. I brought it to his house and the next day when I mentioned that to the postman he went postal saying I had committed a crime.

If they are addressed to you but they are something you didn't request (like address labels from a charity hoping you will donate to them) then you can either throw them away or keep them.

If it is an item you didn't order, I believe you can keep it without paying for it. If it is a personal package, send it on to the right person and consider it your good deed for the day.
