I have been in to competitive swimming since 15 years. I have learnt a lot from swimming; apart from the obvious. Competitive swimming has taught me to over-come difficulties in life & the virtues of hard work. My life has been appropriately prioritized due to swimming.
I would recommend swimming in any form to all youngsters. It not only develops character but reveals it.

I have been a competitive swimmer for 2 years and coming up on 5 seasons. I thouroghly enjoy this sport because of the challege and because it's basically and individual sport. The pressure can be high but it's well worth it in my opinion.

The pressure to win is high... even though no one may be pushing you, I think the internal pressure to win is pressing against you.
If you're one of those super-fast champion swimmers who always wins, you might love compeditions.
For slower swimmers like me... aw let's just say that it's not much fun coming in 2nd place everytime.

I was a competitive swimmer and I was fond of it!!! It was so great, to swim as fast as possible, love it!!
But now I play waterpolo, and that is great too.
what is your favorite distance and how fast do you swim it?
