Mr.Porgie,I didn't know he was a jerk. When the Tigers would play the White Sox,I'd hear "he's a gamer".Someone referred to him as "old school".Am I missing something with the guy?

Booby? (yes that is spelled right!) in the Hall? Hall of shame maybe!

One of the main reasons (other than Leyland) The Tigers are doing so good this year is because that self centered egotistical moronic jerk is not on the team.

Booby Higginson is NOT wearing a Tiger's uniform, and that's all I care about.

For all I know he's hanging out on Woodward and 7 mile. That's where he belongs.

Thank the Lord he is no longer on the Tigers. Yes, he was the face of the franchise, but that was a dark and dismal period.

Even though the MLB requires at least 1 player from each team to make the playoffs, he never made an all star game being snubbed by "great" former Tigers such as Robert Fick, Tony Clark and Damion Easley. Yep, these guys made it to an All-Star game while Higgy sat at home.

He was one of my favorite Tigers when he first came up, but he became more and more of a cancer because he never lived up to the enormous contract he signed a number of years ago.

As Georgie stated, the departure of Higginson from the Tigers clubhouse (and the subsequent release of Dmitri Young this season) is the main reason that the team chemistry has been as magical this year as the White Sox last year and the Red Sox in 2004.

**Side Note**
I don't know if it was the constant losing nature that Higginson endured from his first season through his last, but he was a downer the last couple seasons because everyone realized he was barely worth a tenth of his contract in comparison to many other players in MLB. The reason he received "The Gamer" moniker was that he was a decent player on a horrible team in the late 90's and early '00's. However, his last 3 years in the league were well below average and he only stayed around to get his remaining years on his contract, which didnt endear him to the Tigers' fans.

He filed for free agency on Oct 31, 2005. He wasn't signed by anyone.
