im amazed at all the bad comments, but actually the sicks ones get tended to first, and never wait. its the well people who due to their own neglect, forget to make appts, forget to drop off papers, and then scream at us because it can not be done in five minutes. we do NOT neglect anyone, and our office has all the compasion in the world. we are more hours then any office around...........

also, we are never rude, nasty, or even get loud with them....we just smile and try and help as best as physically possible but that still is not good enough

Hmmm.. sounds like tech support.

I like how that works: YOU broke the computer, YOU were too stupid to use it, YOU looked up porn and filled it with popups, YOU spilled booze on the keyboard, YOU set your coffee cup on the cd rom- Its my fault 'cuz I'm trying to help you.

Do you realize these people are there with sick kids and have probably been up all night with them. They may even be sick themselves. If you can't be a little kind and patient yourself then maybe your in the wrong profession. Have you ever thought kindness would be well appreciated and if it isn't appreciated then you can say you tried and they might just be having a bad day. Take a good look at who is the nasty one. Making sick people wait. Maybe they are even missing a days work to be there for their kids and your making them wait longer. Think about it. Wouldn't you be a little grumpy to? Have a nice day!!!

Yes but you shouldn't make the patients wait longer just because of their attitude. You are supposed to show compassion no matter what last I checked. You better be careful or you could end up sued.

The people with bad attitudes would get better and have nicer attitudes if they are shown compassion. Not everyone will but most do.

Funny...

My doctor's office used to have a receptionist who was rude to us!

Has it occurred to you that your office manager should look into changing your policies? If EVERYONE is rude and threatening, maybe they are the ones who are right?

I'm not saying it's okay for them to be rude to you (that's never okay), but when is someone at your office going to recognize the trend?

why is this in the entertainment section?
are you unable to read?
maybe people are nasty and rude to you because you do not take the time or make an effort to listen to them or pay any attention to what is going on around you- Like posting this question in the entertainment section for example.

Parents with ill children are anxious maybe you could make allowances for them being rather tetchy...do you really feel you have to seek revenge by making them wait longer...

Gee, if you are making people wait longer to spite them for being rude, aren't you just as bad as they are? Sounds mean to me.
