The amount of oil in Alaska is relatively small compared to the potential environmental effects. Regardless, I support the drilling just so we can be done with it and confirm that we're running out of oil and need to concentrate on alternatives.

Who ever said that politics was rational. The reason the Democrats get away with that is that there are few willing to hold their feet to the fire. Those who do, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, and others have all been effectively demonized so that many mainstream Americans believe that they are windbags.

Why not use alternate sources of energy? Nuclear is used all throughout the world. It is quieter and more efficient than wind farms. It is less polluting and more efficient than fossil fuel burning plants.

Houses can be equipped with solar for heating and electrical generation. There are also geo thermal possibilities.

Fossil fuels should not be our primary energy source, they cause pollution and as commodities the price is too volatile for the common person to rely upon.

back whilst i became a toddler we used windmills to pump water and furnish electrical energy. as quickly as we tried to place up a windmill in the early 50's in a newly included area of Dallas the electrical powered corporation took the subject to the legislature and that they set all varieties of rules as to top, blade length etc. We used rivers to create electrical energy till we grew too super and dammed the rivers for the cities to have water. We equipped the Alaskan Pipe Line and then bought ninety% of the oil to the a ways east. Will something paintings or is it too previous due?

Good point.
Democrats think that tax money grows on trees, so they may think that's where oil comes from, too.
They don't want any drilling done in the USA.
