how many calories would I need? My metabolism is average. I'm 20 years old and 135 lbs.
I've started taking Weightgainer. One serving provides 1000 calories and 52 g of protein.

if you mean gain a 1lb a day as in muscle then I can help you out. Eat every two hours or so. make sure you are getting atleast your body weight in protein a day, so that would be 135 grams of protein. Getting it from food is healthier though. and if you want to gain even more weight then throw in some weightlifting because that protein will do really well at building your muscles bigger. And bigger muscles meens more weight

Try 3000 calories a day. At least 150g of protein, 60g of carbs. It is not going to be easy to do. You will have to eat alot of food. Eat three huge meals a day. Then, drink the protein shake just before bedtime. You are going to have to force yourself to eat more then you usually would. It's mental mostly try not to think of being full, try eating while watching tv or listen to some tunes. Anything to take your mind off of the fact that you are gorging yourself with food. I hope this helps. Good luck. P.S A pound a day is almost impossible. Try for a goal of a pound a week. That would be 52 pounds a year.

You have two options. When I was a kid I was severly underweight. Doctor said to have a carnation instant breakfast drink with every meal, it worked. And it was lean muscle.
The other alternative is that when you turn 30 your metabolism will slow down.
