Its a chess game where when you take the opponents piece the piece comes alive and physically destroys it.
I once played a chess game like that, but not been able to find one like that since and i lost track of that first chess game.
if you know any chess games like that, please let me know. i would appreciate it alot.

oh yeah i remember playing chess games like this... and i did a lil research on this subject for u.. simply go to google and in the search bar type
"adventure chess" or "battle chess"
and you will recive a huge amout of links to battle and adventure chess websites...

Battlechess is the name of that game.
There was also a Star Wars Battlechess remake some years ago as well.

in the first star wars movie, the wooki was playing that game on the m. falcon.
