Have heard that there's little or no point applying unless you're a genius with the best grades as you won't get accepted..
is there any truth in this?

no my friend got accepted onto a midwifery course and she had two c's in english and history (and a u in biology),She had offers from Leeds and Cardiff I think it was (she went to Cardiff) she did a lot of work experience which will put you in good sted,so over school holidays try and do as much as you can even if its voluntary! just remember if you really want to do it you will!there is every point in applying as getting your name known and perseverence pays off! good luck

You first have to pass your exams to reach the status of general nursing then you apply for any post that maybe available for training in midwifery, good luck, they are few and far between, now if you wanted to be an administrator , you will have no problem there are about 5 for every nurse and twenty for every Doctor

It depends on several things, including the area where you apply. Obviously an area which is popular is going to only choose the cream of their many applicants. Go to an area which is not so popular and you may well stand a chance as long as you have the grades they want.
