cos people use them as toilets..when was the last time u saw a toilet facility that was open on the underground..

I haven't been down on my hands and knees to smell the tracks. Were you that close the last time you we squatting over them having a wee?

What the hell are 'platform tracks'?!
Do you mean platforms? I doubt anyone would get down onto the LIVE tracks to urinate. And to be honest, the platforms themselves don't usually smell of urine - there's cctv and transport police everywhere to stop people camping out.
What a dumb-*** question!

Because some people prefer to wee on the tracks rather than the platforms.
Others are not so choosy.
Transport people take no pride or interest in their stations anyhow.
Neither do they take any interest in passenger safety.

I guess it smells like urine because the platforms don't get cleaned. Continous action from those that urinate is sure going to leave a nasty fatal smell!

In normal surroundings people cant really smell themselves, but when underground like the Subway you can smell yourself, so Its probably your own personal hygiene that you can smell.

Because it is possible for a man to turn and face a wall and do his thing without being obvious, and so they do it when they need to, and the place ends up with urine on the walls and floors.
