In certain regards, DIEBOLT is one of the most trusted names in this country, manufacturing the majority of ATMs. Additionally, the federal inspectors that regulate banks have access to the source code and regularluy review it for potential fraud.
This is not the case with the voting machines -- DIEBOLT refuses to allow inspectors to review the source code or have independent organizations review it for fraud.
Whether or not we can trust them, is somewhat immaterial. What is crucial is that the election process remain free and open to investigation and inspection to keep the trust of the voters that their votes are counted in an open and fair manner.
Personally, I have my doubts since their CEO said that he would deliver George Bush Ohio and viola!! George Bush narrowly wins Ohio with great concern over voter fraud.
But I would rather live here run by the Republicans then move to Venezuela. At least they provide good fooder for SNL!!!

My gut tells me the Republicans may cede defeat in '06. There may just be too many hurdles for them to overcome this time around. Money might be better spent by putting a new king up for sale in '08.
Add to that, the book, Tempting Faith by David Kuo, (special assistant to the president from 2001 to 2003), may keep many conservative Christians at home on election day. The Dem's may be the only ones out in large numbers that Tuesday.
The press does seem to be waking up, so perhaps messing with the numbers might be too much of a chance to take. Save that for the big dance.
Then again, my gut tells me to keep believing in the Constitution too...

Obviously not, too many GOP good old boys that ARE or WERE former CEO's of Diebold. I saw a Diebold truck the other day (probably going to service the atm or something). I still honked my horn and flipped the guy off. Immature i know but god did i feel better for a minute. Until i realized that they still control out elections.

No, I do not think so, there has to be much democratic vigilance on this issue. Any discrepancy should be reported to the authority's who are suppose to be neutral.

Oh, spare me. Your side was the one that clamored for electronic voting in the first place because a few people were too stupid to vote for the candidate of their choice.
