Also, let me ask, why is this a racist question? I didn't tell them to go back to Africa. I didn't say I wanted them to go back to Africa. I just asked if there were black people who wanted to go back to Africa. The question has nothing to do with the way I think in the least...sheesh

Ill answer your question honestly...you seem sincere enough...

No blacks dont want to go back to africa (im sure you know not all blacks came from africa) Firstly, blacks dont have any connection to african culture. We just dont follow the same customs. Also, we would have to learn to speak french (or some other laguage)because most countries on africa have french as one of the official languages.

Secondly, it seems that most (not all) africans do not accept black americans. They think they are better than us because our ancestor were slaves and there were kings and queens. They also think we are ignorant becasue of the way they see black americans are portrayed. One guy(from africa) said he bet I couldnt name more then 5 countries in africa (becasue he thought I was dumb...) but I proved him wrong ( i got an A in geography biotch!!!)

Lastly, ask your self this... would you ( im guessing your white...sorry if im wrong) want to go back to europe. People in other countires think americas are dumb fat and lazy...at least thats how some of the ppl in france treated me and my freinds ( I have a group of freinds of all types of races). Would you want to go to your ansectors home country and be recieved that way...?

So my answer is, NO i dont think blacks want to go back to africa (I know I dont) And i hope this answers your question...

HI, If you check the history books you will see that there were some free african americans who returned to Africa. They were inspired by the American preacher Robert Finlay in the 19th century. The west coast of Africa was colonised in 1816 and this became the country Liberia in 1847. Ironically the original "owners" of the land, the Malinkes were treated and are still treated as second class citizens (sounds familiar?). Even the women of the settlers didn't get voting rights until 1951. They have already had two civil wars.... It is as if history repeats itself whether your black, white, yellow or red. Power corrupts.

I understand your question and to be honest, even a Black person isn't too attracted to the idea of going to Africa. Maybe visit, but to stay is something totally different. The reason why I didn't say "go back to Africa" is because most of us are fully bred Americans with no connection to Africa.
Peace and Love always Anyways

As a black woman, I would love to go to Africa. I want to take a trip there once I graduate college. I know several black americans who travel there every two years for a bi annual anniversary to pay tribute to what we call out "mother land". Since black americans are not FROM Africa, but from the US, Africa is not and will never be our home. But we have an abundant love and respect for it, so many of us do try and want to travel there. If you mean do we want to go BACK to LIVE there. Then your really ignorent. If your not FROM Africa, who can you go BACK?

I wanted to ask that question but thought black folks would consider me a racist.

I always wondered that though. no offense but the condition in africa is about the same condition in black communities in the states. so I always wondered why they didn't want to move to africa instead of dealing with "ignorant, racists" in America.

There aren't even any black people in Africa that want to live in Africa.

Not do I know of. Most Black Americans who had ancestors here are Native American and white. So we can't go back to Africa because they aren't our people. We don't have the luxury like Asians, Europeans, or Hispanics to call ourselves Chinese-American, Irish-American, or Mexican-American.

I'm an Afro-American who happens to have chosen to live in Africa and I know several other Afro-Americans, Afro-Carribeans, and Afro-British who live here. Do you want to go back to where you originated?

Are there any White people who want to go back to Europe and give the US back to the Native Americans?

Or pay the blacks for the years of slavery forced upon them and then go back to Europe?
