I have been in WI for over a year and most women wear NO make up... And they look at me funny because I do...
What's so sad is the fact that most of these women DESPERATELY need make up...
I am from Texas and the women down there take pride in their appearance and don't wear a whole lot of make up, but enough to enhance their features and enhance their natural beauty.
PS most of them don't bother fixing their hair either...
I think that's why there are so many strip bars up here... The men need something pretty to look at.

I would guess that the ones not wearing makeup are liberals/feminists - they take pride in their ugliness and would consider themselves weak if they went out of their way to attract a man.

Women in the North are not as pretentious, nor do they rely on makeup to define them as people. I've lived in Texas and I am from the North, was quite a culture shock to see so many women so worried about what they looked like. Simply because women don't wear makeup does NOT mean they don't take pride in their appearance. A good many women think makeup makes them look like a clown. Or that it is phony. I disliked that about Texas very much, the pretension that is. No one is more important than another and makeup does nothing without personality, morals, values and good principles to back it up.

OK---ummm..what do you consider "not much make-up"? Maybe they look at you funny cuz you look like a big, made-up, clownish, fake, desperate to have attention person?
I've lived in Texas, California, & several other states & countries.
If you call all the crap plastered on nearly every woman's face & hair in that state "enough to enhance" theur natural beauty, well, maybe it's a good thing they DO wear so much of it---I'd be scared to see what's underneath it!

I'm pretty sure there are a lot of very happy men right here in the dairy state---in fact, I KNOW so---cuz I've got one of the best!!

How much makeup do you wear? I know a lot of women from WI and I am a woman from up North and we all wear makeup. However, we tend to use it to look natural not painted.

Well, I live in New England and just about everybody over the age of ten wears make-up....so it's not because of where people are and stuff.
