I like Ella Enchanted
A Series Of Unfortunate Events, I can't decide yet because I'm only up to the 11th book. But I would probably say The Carnivorous Carnival.

It's a toss up between To Kill a Mockingbird and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.
I've not read the children's series of Unfortunate Events collection that you mention, though I'm familiar with it because of the kids movie.

"The Grapes of Wrath" and "Of Mice and Men", both by my favorite author, John Steinbeck. These books are classics and will be favorites for generations to come. I'm sorry I have not read The Series of Unfortunate Events.

My favorite book of all time is To Kill A Mockingbird. It was so good that even the New York education sysyem couldn't ruin it with silly essays and dumb questions. My fav. series of unfortunate events is the one with the carnival. I cant remember the name right now. I think it was like carnivorous carnival or something like that...
