The Military Commissions Act is very similar in scope to the Reichstag Fire Decree, which was one of the key steps in the establishment of a one-party Nazi state in Germany.

From the Reichstag Fire Decree:
It is therefore permissible to restrict the rights of personal freedom [ habeas corpus ], freedom of opinion, including the freedom of the press, the freedom to organize and assemble, the privacy of postal, telegraphic and telephonic communications, and warrants for house searches, orders for confiscations as well as restrictions on property, are also permissible beyond the legal limits otherwise prescribed.

Bush did not plan 9/11. The Nazis did not plan the Reichstag Fire. Both just used those events to suspend civil liberties.

Of course not.
The comparison of the 911 twin towers being blown up by Bush to the burning down of the Reichstag by Hitler is wrong on its face.
If you believe this you must be one of those students of that crazy Islamic studies Professor from U of Wisconsin.
For most this is ridiculous, for the very few with no grasp of history this is reality.
So if you believe Bush blew up the towers then I guess you have all the evidence you need.

You are completely in error. There is no comparison. What is your basis for this determination? The Military Commissions Act is applicable only to non-citizens who have engaged in conduct that, had they been members of an organized state militia, would have constituted acts of war.

The fact that you can post a question such as this freely and without fear demonstrates that we are nowhere near Nazi Germany (or the old USSR or China or Iran or N. Korea or Cuba .....etc. etc.

We will be if the Democrats ever get back in office. They're already rigging elections and will find a way to eliminate any voting so they can remain in power as one party.

No, that won''t happen. We're WAY to stubborn to have the U.S. become a one-party nation.

We need two parties. If one party is abolished, who will the other party blame?

Yes you are right, not treating prisoners of war like they are citizens is exactly the same as murdering 6 million people. I am glad you showed me the light.

Thank you for not being a Republican
