a pen exploded in the dryer and we've tried bleach and rubbing alcohol and even hairspray, any other ideas?

Hmmm. That's a good one. You could try a product called Goof Off that you can buy at Lowes or Home Depot. It works better than Goo Gone. Did you try nail polish remover? Try that before going buy some expensive and flammable product that is kinda dangerous especially if you're using it in the dryer. The residue may be flammable and your clothes will stink.
Yes, try the nail polish remover. You can also buy acetone at any hardware store for a couple of bucks. That's the main ingredient of nail polish remover, but industrial strength.

WD-40 or Acetone, Just make sure to wipe the dryer down with a clean wet rag after removing the ink....

The heat from the dryer basically burned it into everything. If alcohol won't work nothing will. There is a product called GooGone that is guaranteed to remove everything from crayon to stretch marks on your belly. If it doesn't work nothing will.

You could try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Those things seem to take anything off of anything.

ok i was going to say hairspray, paint thinner, or will that ruin your dryer, i don't know..
