you can't connect a phone directly to that, it's for computer connections.

if you need to plug in both the router and a phone into the same wall jack, you'll need a splitter, and a DSL filter.

if you want to use a phone for VOIP, you need Vonage service, and a special box they sell, like this one: http://www.vonage.com/device.php?type=VT2142

if you want to use the voip service with 210 router;
call up BT and ask them for a 10V adapter;that is used for voip connections for a non voip router;
BT provides them
