An iPod is simply another brand of mp3 player, just from Apple, just like iriver, Creative, Sanyo, Dell, Sony, etc. Many of the others are cheaper, with the same, similar, or even more functions, only with less accessories by companies other than the manufacturer. If you really want an iPod, though, you should consider your options and preferences.

Firstly, there are several different models. You can probably get a used iPod mini off of Ebay, which has I think 2 and 4 GB models. Minis have a black and white screen. There is the old Shuffle, in 512 MB and 1GB if you don't want too much. There is also a new Shuffle out. Shuffles do not have a screen. There is the old iPod, with varying amounts of space. I don't remember how much. Lastly, there is the Nano, with 1, 2, and I think the new one has 4 (not sure, could be wrong) GB. The older version is black or white, and the newer one comes in several colors. The Video has a wider screen, is very thin like the Nano, and comes in black or white. Both can display images and videos, and both have a color screen. The Video has several sizes, depending on how old. I think there is a 30 (I don't think there is 20), 60, and 80 (the newest) GB. Many say that the black finish is better for viewing movies and videos, but some still prefer the white finish.

Obviously, used iPods are cheaper, but the newest iPods are more difficult to find, and used ones may not come with all the equipment (outlet charger, software to install, iTunes, etc. However, iTunes is downloadable from the site. I'm not too sure about the actually web address, but if you go to yahoo or google, type in iTunes site, it should come up.

Also, because of exchange rates and so on, sometime (though not always) buying an iPod in another country will be a little cheaper.

If you need more help, add a detail with you email or messenger (Yahoo only) ID and I'll email you or something.

I think it depends on what you want. I recently bought an Ipod Nano 2kg that holds 500 songs. If you want more songs you might want to buy one with more memory. Also the regular Ipod lets you store movies, shows etc and has a bigger viewing screen. The Ipod Shuffle has the least amount of memory and I don't think it has a screen. I suggest going to apple.com and checking them all out. I actually bought my Ipod on Ebay used and saved $75. I love mine and have since bought a stereo docking station and an I Trip which allows me to play my ipod wirelessly in my car. Good luck...happy hunting.

hmm, why don't you try comparing some mp3 players to see what features you like and what you need.
