I was at a friend's house, and he and his wife were watching a show that had the 100 best duets of all time. I got sucked into watching, and it said that the #1 duet of all time was Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton's "Islands In The Sea." Surely this has to be incorrect. Does anyone else agree? What you are your suggetions for the #1 duet of all time?

Much as I love Dolly Parton, I LOATHE Kenny Rogers, so he ruined that (pretty mediocre) song! I'd have to go with Simon & Garfunkel, or John Lennon & Paul McCartney (tho' I can't stand McCartney by himself)...OR Lennon & Ono! Or...dating myself even further: Marvin Gaye and Mary Wells.

Best fake duet: Joe Piscopo and Eddie Murphy as Frank Sinatra and Stevie Wonder doing "Ebony & Ivory" on SNL! Classic...

That was a pretty good duet- I'd be interested to see who was in the top 5. I bet any on of those could have beaten Kenny and Dolly.

I think my favourite duet of all time is Elton John and Kiki Dee with "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart"... or that song from Dirty Dancing "I've Had the Time of My Life"

Hmm, that is surprising. It's a good song, but I don't think it's the BEST duet.

I like "I Got You Babe" by Sonny & Cher because it's such a classic, more for sentimental reasons. But purely on music value, I'd choose "Under Pressure" by David Bowie and Freddy Mercury.

This is a tough one. There's Jerry Butler & Betty Everett who sang "Let It Be Me" in the early 60's. There's Sonny & Cher. There's Waylon & Willie. However,my all-time favorite pairing would have to be Freddie Mercury & David Bowie when they teamed up to do "Under Pressure"

I would have to chose Bing Crosby & David Bowie singing a duet
of two Christmas songs together. I mean here you have the old
Bing and the young dashing, white duke, David Bowie together.

Although it was an engineered duet, not real time, I would vote for Nate and Natalie (his daughter) Cole, singing "Unforgettable."
