Reboot your laptop, enter setup during POST, change the setting in BIOS to NUMLOCK off, save BIOS settings and reboot. Voila, you won't have to switch numlock off each time you start your machine.

ON the keyboard under the numerical keypad on the top left corner press the button labelled Num Lock. As you press check the light if it is on or on the keyboard.

just press that button, it's in the upper left of the number keys which are on the right side of keyboard normally, it might even be just below the light that says num lock. press it and the light should go off = OFF.
press again, light comes back on, now? ON.

you can turn it off by pressing it again. there is usually a button on your right of the keyboard- where the numbers are

It depends if you are using a laptop you need to press the blue FN on the bottom and hold it at the same time you press the numlk key.

you just press the numlk key on your keyboard to toggle the numlock on or off.
it's located at the top left corner of the numerical keypad at the far right of your keyboard.
