Project Runway Model Costume Idea?

Hi there! My company's department is putting on a theme costume contest for each department, and our department is doing Project Runway. I've decided to be a model, and I know i'm going to do the all-out makeup and big wig, but what else can I do? Any specific ideas on makeup and wig styles? I don't want to spend too much on clothing either, say maybe $30-$50 max. I want to be really unique because if we win an individual prize we win a gift card to a nice restaurant downtown. Thanks so much ahead of time! =) PS-nothing to risque as this is the work place, and I don't like wearing high heels, so that option is out. =)

Maybe have some of the other members of the department dress like the designers.. Like for example someone can be Uli... they can wear a blond wig, and a long colorful dress, Jeffrey... since he's clothes have rock/roll influence why not have someone wear spiky hair, dark sunglasses, black attire... Laura, someone can wear a sophisticated dress, maybe a short red wig, Michael, someone can wear like hip-hop influence clothes, baggy shirt and pants, long chain, a cap maybe.. And they can wear one of those things that they use to measure, and since you're the model you can even have a fake "runway show" =) Good Luck and I hope you win

*Try dressing like one of the designs that the designers have done (like the black&white challenge... you can wear a black&white dress or like in the pageant challenge... you can buy a fancy over the top dress)

Have you looked on the project runway site? http://www.projectrunway.com and looked at any of the styles and tried to mimic them? If you are doing a big wig I really do not get it. I do not get what that has to do with project runway. Perhaps you do not watch the show. You need to look at the dreses and copy one of them. You could even pin it to your dress like a barby doll does. The dress looks are under auctions. After the monica leuinski incident tons of people wore blue dresses for haloween.

For example if you did Angelas dress from the icon challenge this is how you would do it.

You would get a black sleveles dress with the same shape as the dress she had and then add some puffy detals at the bottom hem like that dress. Just do a similar look. As for a wig do not do a wig unless one of the specific models had hair like that. People are watching closely and that would just be silly. Unless people do not watch the show and everyone else does horrible you will not win.

You do not have to wear heels just wear some shoes that blend in with the outfit. Also for the judging you can wear the shoes and then change for the rest of the day.

You could also choose a dress from the dog challenge and bring a stuffed animal dog on a leash. That would be really funny. If you do that people might be forgiving about the outfit. You might want to just do a whilte outfit like one of the models and do a white do with the motorcycle jacket. Felt is easy to use and so is sweat shirt material. Any cord you can make a leash. People would think that is funny I think to do the dog challenge.

go onto bravo tv also they have tons of clips. No funny wigs. Make it like the show if you want to win. Someone must be watching this show if they came up with this contest even if you are not watching the show try to make it work as they say.

They have dresses on the video mash up section under runway. Not all, but there are some. They keep adding more to that site. The bravo site that is. Go for the thrift store. Think how they make things work on the look for less and make the outfit look in the same mood as the desiner one. Or how they do those designer rooms. You just do it in the same mood it does not have to be exact just the feeling.

If you get the right spirit going you just might win. People sometimes like when people get creative and do not use tons of money. It just depends on the crowd. I know someone who won a contest because she mad a mask and did sweats and did not spend much. My costume looked expensive, but was not, but I did not win because of it. Mine was an old dance costume I was re-using and repurposing into the tooth fairy. It was funny, but not as rustic as the other one. I did get a date out of it however at the party and a boyfriend.

A nice evening gown with a long haired wig that has the sides pulled up or that is in a french roll. Don't over due on the make-up.
Either that or a extremely ridiculous golf outfit. Pink and lime green argyle plaid.

i admire the two shows. i haven't considered them in approximately 2 years although i've got not got in any cable :( i admire Season 2 challenge Runway, Daniel Vosovic will consistently be my popular :) ?
