This is for my book club - I have loved Saundra Brown, and Nora Roberts but I want it to be a great book everyone will love.

Do the books need to have been published this year? If not, I am a HUGE fan of Laura Jon Rowland. She is mainly a mystery/suspence author who has here stories based in Feudal Japan *The Sano Inchiro series*. Her writing is so vivid. I'm usually not a mystery fan, but I love Japanese culture, so I read "Bundori" and fell in love w/ her work. Lots of action and just enough steam to get the imagination going w/o being soft porn

I am reading The other Boleyn girl by Phillipa Gregory. I really recommend it. It's not really suspense as in thriller, but there is a lot of suspense as to what will happen to the different characters. And there is some steam. It's quite long, but I'm advancing fast cause I can't put it down.

Anything by Tamora Pierce, particularly The Song of the Lioness Quartet, but you have to get to book three before anything really romantic really happens. Book two has minor romance, but Book three and four are over the top with romance.

Also try the Immortals Quartet, but book four is the only one with romance. It has lots of it. The Immortals Quartet is also by Tamora Pierce.
