We want to play some music at our kids christening but some people say no ( ie PARENTS ) we think its a great idea. So if you agree what should we play and if you don't agree WHY ?

Maybe I should clear this up. I meant at the after party. Not in the church I have more respect for the rest of The good church going people.

you should play anything that is speical to you and your partner all to often parents would like to take over this is more to do with yourselves and your kids good luck. hope things go well.

The only problem I could see would be if you are videoing it. Believe it or not some wedding videos have fallen foul of music licencing laws and as a result anything with music in it has had to have the music removed (or replaced with ancient out of copyright stuff)
I think music at any event personalises it and if you have a favourite song you sing to your child, then I see no harm in this at all.
It will make the song special forever.

Really cheesy - the big thing about a christening is that it is not just your service - it takes place at a regular sunday service - so it's actually very selfish of you to impose that on the congregation. Just go with what the lord wants.
