The Mayans, who by the way were VERY good with calendars, reckoned the final day would be December 22, 2012. I don't think I want to be alone on that day. But if we safely get to December 23 that year, the human race probably has in it another century or two until we blow ourselves to smithereens or some wayward asteroid does it for us or maybe Yellowstone will blow its load.

I'm pretty sure the world isn't going to end anytime this century. It'll definatley end when the sun burns out which will be happening in the next thousand years or so. Unless we find an alternative source of energy, that can heat the whole planet, or whenever everyone decides to blow each other up with nuclear weapons. I think it'll end later than sooner.

In the end the world will end for you when you die. After that nothing matters any more, for you.
For the rest - likely never. Matter and energy will endlessly reconfigure as a result of interaction and it will appear also as if at random.
This planet - as a place for us may end almost any time because of interstellar collision, or maybe in the near future because of nuclear war, or maybe later as a result of our misuse & abuse of the resources that sustam life. Maybe a long, long time.
In the end the only realy question is the first - your own world, because once you are dead it is all meaningless. Unless of course you do such creat deeeds that "live" on in other people's memeoris. Maybe your or other children. Find the cure for cancer.

The Mayans believed that the world would end in 2012, as does the Bible Code. Read that book, it is EXTREMELY interesting. It speaks of a code in the Torah that can predict the future. It supposedly predicted the assassination of Yitchak Rabin (former prime minister of Israel). If your skeptical, read it and then judge it. It says the world will end in 2012, and a major earthquake will occur in 2010. Guess I will have to wait and see, but check out the book, it's non-fiction and oh-so-interesting.

In a few billion years, when the sun runs out of energy and becomes a black hole. By then hominids will probably colonize other places. Humans will evolve and no longer look like modern humans.

I don't think it will end any time soon.... I think we still have another 100-200 years left if we don't kill ourselves
