it's usually very light and alot shorter. it's not really a period, usually it's implantation bleeding that happens at the same time your period would've started. but i have read that some women had periods throughout their pregnancies but they were all very light and pinkish in color and short lived.

when i first got pregnant i spotted twice during the two time i was supposed to get my period, other people dont, and some have regular periods as if they werent pregnant, but they were.

yes but the bleeding is not normal its usually way lighter and shorter, some people call it spotting. If your period is NORMAL than your not pregnant and if your period is HEAVY with cramping and you suspect your pregnant than its a miscarriage.

My sister in law had her period (about normal amount of bleeding) for the first trimester (three months) - Personally, I've never bled during any of the four pregnancies I've gone through so ... Good luck with that though!
