Will Brandon Jacobs be able to handle the job as a full time running back when Tiki retires or will they need to draft a new running back to take that role?

I think jacobs is great how he is now...just as a backup...not a 3rd down back...i dont think he'll be able to take the place of tiki, though i could be wrong..i dont think drafting a new back is the answer right now either...its too critical of a position to hope that a rookie that is drafted in a mid to late 1st round would be good enough...i dont see giants being a top 10 pick in a draft for years to come...so i think theyd have to hope a quality free agent running back becomes a free agent in the next year or two..im not sure how many years are left on players contracts, but giants have to hope for a deal to arise comparable to one for the cardinals when james was a free agent

Im not sure if Jacobs is the all game long kinda guy.
Dont get me wrong, i love the guy and he's all heart. I hope he proves me wrong. But when Tiki retires, which i hope isnt for a while, theyre still gonna need a running back other than Jim Finn and Brandon Jacobs.

Jacobs showed some stuff during that pre-season game when he broke one for a 65 yard TD, but im not sure just yet if he can handle a full non-stop offensive game.

A lot changes in the offensive schemes. Whether it be a new coach or a new player. Some teams purposely change certain plays to better suit their talent. If you have a powerful back they will run more middle plays and short dump passes, where if the back is quicker and small more sweeps and draw plays. We will just have to wait and see. Tiki has a few years left.

It's hard to tell. Just look at the improvement in Jacobs over last year. They are using him differently and it's showing a whole new side to his game. And remember that Tiki was originally considered to be an undersized third down back...now look at him.

Yes, if he fits their offensive schemes by then. A lot could happen between now and then.

I think he'll handle the job for a short time, then get replaced.
