No. The more friends you have the more people you have demanding pieces of your time. You should have only the number of friends you can maintain without neglecting yourself.

I think of friendships as being concentric circles with me in the middle, the larger circles reflect the larger groups of friends that I have, and at the same time they are the people that I keep at a greater disance. As the circles get closer to me, they get smaller and smaller. These are the people with whom I choose to open up and share things with, the people that I can be vulnerable with. We can't be vulnerable with everone, can we?!

I feel like I have a wonderfully varied group of friends, with many different relationships to keep me entertained and enthralled.

It's definately quality, not quantity. Just think about this for a second...

TO LIMIT IS TO EXPAND.

It isn't about quantity. You can have tons of acquantences but that doesn't matter when you really need a friend you can count on. I'd def rather have a few good friends then a bunch of okay friends. They are the ones that stick with you when it counts.

yeah^, sure it s quality , i m not saying u should have a few but if a few is good enough then u wont need someone else and this is better in sharing quality time wise..

but what is '' a few'' then.. i d take 3 - 6 a few for real/close friends...

that is SUCH an easy answer...obviously its the quality!!! who wants a buttload of people called "friends" who they never see, or they do but they arent nice, or they talk behind your back...basically just people you know....as compared to like 3 or 4 BEST friends who know eeeverything about you, they would fight for you in a half a SECOND....you can cry to them, yell at them, and trust them without ever feeling like you need to give something in return....the answer is simple...if your an idiot who just wants to be seen with people, even if you dont really like those people, then yeah, quantity is good for you, but for all those real people out there who live their lives and have a real good time with people that they love, quality is the only way to go!!!

I have to agree a few good friends are better than lots of people.
You can always socialise with many people, but trust and friendship is something you have to work for sometimes, so choose who is worth your effort

Having good quality friends is better than having loads. there are precious few people we can trust in this life and your friends should be some of them.

Feel that throughout life you end up with lots of friends but only a few loyal, honest, there for you through thick and thin friends and those are very precious.

True friends strengthen you, show your love and concern, and encourage you along your way.

If the fit the definition on a friend than more is always better. But can you really have time for many friends?

An old man once told me that if someone says that they have more friends than fingers, don't believe them. If a man says that he can count his true friends on the fingers of one hand, you can trust him.
