Are you kidding me? San Fransisco has got to have the country's largest population of gay men and women.

They have buildings and streets and places dedicated to the gay lifestyle.

Rainbow flags are abundant, as well as gay bars, gay communities, and even gay churches.

There are several places in SF where it's very unusual and uncommon to see a straight couple.

As long as at least forty years ago the Bay Area was considered to be populated by liberals and accepting of personal differences.
There it has attracted people with alternative life styles of all kinds, this made it attractive to gays then and that is still true today.
