Or maybe Kim doesn't want to sound desperate when pleading for Bolton to let him have his wine, cognac and the Mercedes keys. It would be so humiliating to have to hit the Chinese up for items so basic for a ruler.

But Kim might as well go to the Chinese with his troubles. The so-called DPRK is China's Israel.

This nuclear test and the responses to it highlight what is *really* going on in the East.

This answer is so simple --- to be reconized. This would add to their status and importance in world views > "to have their picture taken with the President". The "picture" would be worth more to them than the dead nuke they just tried to detonate.
