I am finishing my 4 year BS in equine science from Colorado State, but I would like to work as a tech at a large equine hospital. Is it possible to do this with my BS, or do I still need a vet tech program?

no you need to be certified and that requires an associate degree and then the certification.

To become a certified vet tech you need an associates degree (2 years) from an accredited community college or vet tech school.

I don't understand why not go on to vet school. But vet tech school can teach you the techniques necessary to be a tech. I suppose I would ask the large animal clinic what is necessary.
Good luck with your career.
